We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Care Specialist to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). As a key member of our surgical department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional patient care.

As a Surgical Care Specialist, you will work closely with our surgical teams to provide top-notch care for patients undergoing various procedures. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgical teams in preparing operating rooms, including setting up equipment and supplies
  • Carefully transport patients to and from operating rooms, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized operating environment, adhering to strict sterile protocols
  • Support other duties within the surgery department as needed, such as OR housekeeping chores or Central Sterile processing
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Technical College with accredited Surgical Technologist curricula
  • Surgical Technologist Certification required after 2008
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the American Heart Association (AHA)
