Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Michaels Organization. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our communities, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the physical integrity of the community, including ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment.
  • Perform assigned duties in a safe manner, adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assessing and repairing properties.
  • Perform basic and advanced HVAC repairs, electrical repairs, and light plumbing work, as well as carpentry and painting tasks.
  • Assist in custodial and grounds work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning windows.
  • Respond to work orders and resident concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete accurate records regarding preventive maintenance and work orders.
  • Report any maintenance or resident-related concerns to the manager and/or supervisor in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • One year of experience or training in carpentry, light plumbing work, light electrical work, painting, refurbishing, and cleaning.
  • Proven knowledge and application of codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test screening.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Technician will work 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required for emergency, on-call, or scheduled shifts. Overtime hours may be required.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment, perform duties under pressure, and meet deadlines in a timely manner. They will also be able to read and write legibly to complete required maintenance reports and requests.
