Job Description

We are seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for working directly with customers to identify their motion control needs and providing technical assistance to ensure successful implementation of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Work closely with new and existing customers to understand their motion control requirements and provide tailored solutions from our product offerings.
  • Technical Analysis: Review engineering specifications from customers and analyze data to determine the most suitable technical solution.
  • Collaboration: Interface with sales personnel and engineers at our manufacturing facilities to close new opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates for quotations in conjunction with manufacturing engineering or using available data.
  • Liaison Services: Serve as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information, expedite material requisitions and production work orders.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide technical assistance to interpret, analyze, and resolve design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field operating problems.
  • Installation Support: Oversee product installation and trial operations, analyze, and resolve operating and other field problems related to customer installations.
  • Proposal Preparation: Prepare proposals and maintain records, files, and references library incidental to opportunities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed of new developments in the industry and their relation to our products.
  • Training and Development: Train in-house personnel to gain an understanding of our products, applications, order process flow, and specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Work Experience: 3 – 8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience in a technical, manufacturing environment.
  • Communication: Comfortable delivering presentations to internal and external employees as needed.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, compliance requirements, or governmental regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid computer skills include MS Office, D365 CRM, Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc.

Benefits:

  • Predominantly Office-Based Role: The majority of the role involves office-based work with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.
  • Physical Demands: May spend considerable time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab and occasionally lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
