Job Summary

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a skilled Assembler I to join our team in Miamisburg, Ohio. As an Assembler I, you will play a critical role in the design, manufacture, and test of energetic safety systems, including electronic safe, arm, and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue Chip detonators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a combination of tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems under close supervision.
  • Position, align, and assemble parts in specified relationships to each other in fixtures or holding devices.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, laser welding, and operating pneumatic machinery.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material.
  • May perform assembly operations under a microscope or other magnifying device.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods and perform intermittent overtime.
  • Some bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and mild lifting of 10 pounds or less.
  • Mount assembled components, such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
  • Connect components, wires to printed circuit boards, and route via soldering.
  • Adjust and trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
  • Perform inline testing and inspection using measuring instruments and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards.
  • Ability to cross-train on other programs in the facility.
  • Ability to perform various repair and rework operations using approved written procedures.
  • As a skilled employee, complete tasks in a resourceful and effective way.
  • Ability to work from schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to perform any other job-related task assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six to twenty-four months of industrial experience or similar training.
  • Must be able to read schematics and assembly prints and be thoroughly familiar with assembly operations such as wiring, welding, bonding, and soldering.
  • Certain job assignments require the ability to obtain and maintain an IPC/J-STD Certification within 90 days of employment and throughout tenure.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 qualification.
  • Ability to achieve a security clearance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses intermediate computer skills, including MS Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to Department of Energy requirements.
