Station Meter Relay Specialist

PacifiCorp seeks experienced professionals to excel in a dynamic environment, promoting customer-centricity, environmental sustainability, and diversity.

• To perform complex relay and control system tests, adjustments, and troubleshooting as a Journeyman Station Meter and Relay Technician.
• Oversee the meter, relay, and control equipment shop, including vehicles, tools, test equipment, spare parts, and supplies provided by PacifiCorp.

A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of substation protection, control, and metering equipment. They will install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair substation equipment, which includes electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor protective relays, indicating and KWH/KW meters, recording instruments, controls, breakers, transformers, regulators, capacitors, reactors, and remote control equipment.

The ideal candidate will operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding, follow safety rules and company standards, and work independently or with others. They may work in confined spaces, elevated areas, with buckets, and boom trucks, occasionally working long hours during emergency conditions and being responsible for tools, test equipment, and vehicles.

Requirements

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent program.
• At least 4 years of experience in the meter & relay trade.
• Passing a pre-qualifying skills test.
• A good driving record.
• A physical exam.
