Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to quality production standards across all accounts.
- Manage control sheets and assign team drivers to flights on a daily basis.
- Inspect the dock area to confirm that employees have the necessary equipment and that trucks depart as scheduled.
- Verify that all teams are catering to the correct aircraft and flights.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and Airport Transport Authority badging requirements.
- Collaborate with management to enhance unit performance.
- Assist teams with late flights and equipment adjustments.
- Gather information from airlines regarding service requirements and updates.
- Maintain radio communication with the Operations Manager, meal planner, and leads during operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen to ensure no equipment is left behind after flights.
- Oversee the security and proper transportation of galleys while maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Verify that specifications, airline diagrams, and other standards align with airline requirements.
- Ensure all products are coded according to Gate Gourmet procedures.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery and fleet is conducted per schedule, reporting any maintenance and repair issues promptly.
- Maintain company policies and procedures, as well as specification manuals for airline clients.
- Monitor and achieve financial goals related to materials, productivity, overtime, and labor.
- Prepare management reports (e.g., attendance, HAACCP, and labor) as needed.
- Supervise drivers and driver assistants.
- Train and evaluate employees on proper work procedures to maximize productivity and security while minimizing labor and food costs.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and prepare corrective actions for employees, coordinating with HR and other support functions as necessary.
- Manage workflow balancing by assigning responsibilities and workstations among employees on each shift.
- Plan daily manpower needs, including assigning responsibilities and workstations.
- Determine staffing needs for coverage (e.g., sick calls, vacation relief, medical leaves, volume changes).
- In collaboration with department leaders, assess the number of employees required per shift.
- Focus on employee retention and monitor turnover rates.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's degree or a degree from a four-year university or college is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a delivery driver role and/or customer service is required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant, or catering environment is preferred.
- Experience in the airline industry is a plus.
- Strong customer service capabilities.
- Ability to supervise and motivate team members.

- Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish/Chinese Mandarin/Vietnamese/Hindi or Polish are advantageous.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to pass a DMV verification process.
- Clean driving record without moving violations or accidents.
- Ability to obtain an Airport Transport Authority badge is required.
- Ability to obtain a Customs Seal for the Airport Transport Authority badge is required.
- A CDL driver's license is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Regularly stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 10+ hours.
- May experience physical discomfort due to temperature and noise in a typical production kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or maneuver 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors 75-80% of the time.
- Ability to work at heights of approximately 50 feet.
- Flexibility to work weekends and adjust schedules as needed.
