We are seeking a Culinary Caregiver to join our team in Queens, NY. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work flexible hours as assigned.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing meals according to current diet orders for residents living in the residence. This includes all food allergies and following Registered Dietitian/MD prescribed diet orders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Preparing and cooking meals according to planned menus
  • Referring to posted diet sheets and observing specialized diets
  • Providing substitution for known food dislikes
  • Inspecting food deliveries for freshness and correct amount ordered
  • Storing food properly using first-in-first-out inventory rotation system, proper refrigeration and freezer storage methods
  • Handling raw meat, fish, raw eggs, and poultry according to food safety guidelines
  • Maintaining personal hygiene standards when handling food

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to cook according to prescribed dieticians instructions
  • Able to operate kitchen and cooking equipment and stand for longer periods
  • Able to bend, kneel, and crouch as needed
  • Able to frequently reach, twist, and make repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull weight up to 40 lbs
