Resident Services Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Services Assistant to join our team at Christian Community Homes and Services. As a key member of our assisted living team, you will provide non-professional routine nursing care and light housekeeping duties for our residents.
Responsibilities- Provide non-professional routine nursing care and light housekeeping duties for residents
- Obtain pertinent information regarding residents and report to appropriate personnel
- Plan and prioritize actions before starting resident cares
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as changing linens
- Assist with laundry tasks as necessary
- Provide assistance with daily hygiene and appearance, including toileting, bathing, grooming, shaving, oral cares, and nail care
- Implement special care needs, including incontinence cares, special skin care, catheter care, turning/positioning techniques, and use of adaptive equipment
- Perform restorative care and range of motion as instructed
- Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers as appropriate
- Sort and pass resident mail
- Encourage residents to take adequate diet, fluids, and supplements
- Recognize physical distress and act to provide relief for residents
- Identify and report physical and psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriate staff
- Allow residents the freedom of choice in details of daily living whenever possible
- Ensure residents' rights are maintained at all times
- Report any observed physical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediately
- Encourage residents to participate in self-care as appropriate
- Assist residents with the application of prosthetics
- Provide diversional activities as appropriate to meet resident needs
- Demonstrate effective and respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and adhere to, actions to assure resident and staff safety
- Demonstrate proper infection control procedures and practices
- Comply with rules and regulations of regulatory and surveying agencies
- Comply with facility policies, including attendance policy and personal electronics policy
- Maintain an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departments
- Promote the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationships
- Participate in giving and receiving report from other shifts
- Attend scheduled training seminars, meetings, and in-services as appropriate
- Follow work assignments and/or work schedules as assigned
- Practice good personal hygiene and facility dress code
- Assume added duties as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living
- Perform and assist with activities per activity calendar/activity daily sheets
- Must be 18 years of age - if 16 or 17 waiver can be obtained with specific requirements
- Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions
- Must be able to perform all the requirements of the job description and have no lifting or bending restrictions that would affect the job requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare facility is desired
- Must possess good communication skills and a willingness to work with all team players
- Must have an acceptable criminal background check
Pay is $17.00-$23.00 per hour DOE. Shift differentials available on evening and overnight shifts.
