Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Services Assistant to join our team at Christian Community Homes and Services. As a key member of our assisted living team, you will provide non-professional routine nursing care and light housekeeping duties for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide non-professional routine nursing care and light housekeeping duties for residents
  • Obtain pertinent information regarding residents and report to appropriate personnel
  • Plan and prioritize actions before starting resident cares
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as changing linens
  • Assist with laundry tasks as necessary
  • Provide assistance with daily hygiene and appearance, including toileting, bathing, grooming, shaving, oral cares, and nail care
  • Implement special care needs, including incontinence cares, special skin care, catheter care, turning/positioning techniques, and use of adaptive equipment
  • Perform restorative care and range of motion as instructed
  • Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers as appropriate
  • Sort and pass resident mail
  • Encourage residents to take adequate diet, fluids, and supplements
  • Recognize physical distress and act to provide relief for residents
  • Identify and report physical and psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriate staff
  • Allow residents the freedom of choice in details of daily living whenever possible
  • Ensure residents' rights are maintained at all times
  • Report any observed physical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediately
  • Encourage residents to participate in self-care as appropriate
  • Assist residents with the application of prosthetics
  • Provide diversional activities as appropriate to meet resident needs
  • Demonstrate effective and respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and adhere to, actions to assure resident and staff safety
  • Demonstrate proper infection control procedures and practices
  • Comply with rules and regulations of regulatory and surveying agencies
  • Comply with facility policies, including attendance policy and personal electronics policy
  • Maintain an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departments
  • Promote the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationships
  • Participate in giving and receiving report from other shifts
  • Attend scheduled training seminars, meetings, and in-services as appropriate
  • Follow work assignments and/or work schedules as assigned
  • Practice good personal hygiene and facility dress code
  • Assume added duties as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living
  • Perform and assist with activities per activity calendar/activity daily sheets
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age - if 16 or 17 waiver can be obtained with specific requirements
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions
  • Must be able to perform all the requirements of the job description and have no lifting or bending restrictions that would affect the job requirements
  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility is desired
  • Must possess good communication skills and a willingness to work with all team players
  • Must have an acceptable criminal background check
Pay and Benefits

Pay is $17.00-$23.00 per hour DOE. Shift differentials available on evening and overnight shifts.
