About the Job

The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams for Acuity Eyecare Group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The Optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough eye exams to assess patients' visual health
  • Establish long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education
  • Perform verbal interviews with patients to determine their health and ocular history, medical issues, and visual wants and needs
  • Provide personalized recommendations and advice to patients on their options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual wants and needs
  • Ability to generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values
  • Perform vision tests and analyze results to diagnose sight problems and eye diseases
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as necessary
  • Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
  • Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed
  • Promote eye health by counseling patients on how to clean and wear contact lenses, how often to have their eyes examined, and clearly communicating recommendations for the best possible lenses with the latest technology coatings and designs
Requirements:
  • Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution
  • Must have passed all optometric state boards
