Ambulatory Infusion Nurse

Job Summary:
UPMC Chartwell is seeking a skilled and dedicated Infusion Nurse to join their Ambulatory Infusion Team. As an Infusion Nurse, you will play a vital role in coordinating and performing skilled nursing care for patients in the home setting.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Performance Improvement Program to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Represent the organization in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Attend scheduled patient care conferences, in-services, and departmental meetings to stay updated on best practices.
- Take on call responsibility to provide 24-hour availability and follow established protocols.
- Support the marketing efforts of the center by assisting the sales team and providing educational programs to referral sources.
- Set high standards of performance for yourself and maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance.
- Participate in the activities of the Performance Improvement Program and submit patient care documentation and reports in a timely manner.
- Take professional responsibility for self-protection during work in potentially hazardous situations.
- Maintain courteous demeanor and promote Chartwell culture by providing quality services to all customers.
- Communicate effectively and express ideas clearly, and make sure work meets quality standards.
- Provide infusion and other skilled nursing care to patients, show pride in work, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicate with others in a warm and helpful manner, build credibility and rapport, and complete work on schedule.
- Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures, complete patient care documentation and reports in a timely manner, and maintain professional licensure, certification, and health requirements.
- Take initiative to present ideas and suggestions to management, provide pre-discharge patient assessments, and participate in the orientation of other nurses or center personnel.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to supervisors, physicians, and other healthcare providers, and utilize appropriate communication lines to relay problems, concerns, questions, and ideas.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity, and provide patient education for administration of medication, catheter care, and competency prior to admission to service.
Requirements:
- Diploma from an accredited school of nursing required.
- B.S.N. preferred.
- 1 year previous specialized home health experience preferred.
- 1 year clinical experience involving infusion therapy, including patient assessment skills, and venous access skills.
- CPR certification required.
- PICC training preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Ability to assume a flexible work schedule.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Automotive Insurance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Driver's License.
- Registered Nurse (RN).
