Surgical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at ProMedica Health System. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, utilizing appropriate techniques and protocols.
- Provide technical services and assist during operative procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
- Apply knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
- Prepare rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, opening sterile supplies and setting up for procedures.
- Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring a seamless workflow.
- Drape patients for procedures, assist with case as directed by physician.
- Share knowledge of scrubbing to educate and mentor peers and new orientees.
- Graduate of an approved surgical technician program or licensed as LPN in the State of Michigan.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and deal with a changing environment.
- Must be able to input information into computer programs and maintain patient charts, records, and logs.
- Must be able to use basic math and operate diagnostic equipment.
- BCLS and Surgical Technologist (CST) certification if not an LPN. Must have Surgical Technologist (CST) certification within six (6) months of hire.
Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics to function adequately. Must have manual dexterity. Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, pulls up to 50 lbs. Frequently lifts, positions, pushes, transfers patients. Frequent prolonged standing and walking. Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Regularly exposed to infection and contagious disease. Regularly exposed to blood-borne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids. Subject to long and/or irregular hours. Must be able to handle crisis or emergency situations.
