We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager Lead to join our team at Prisma Health. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising staff and unit operations, providing direct patient care, and ensuring the delivery of safe and quality patient care on the unit.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision
- Oversee a variety of patient care activities in a charge nurse capacity to ensure the delivery of safe and quality patient care on the unit/service.
- Supervise staff and unit operations, including staff allocation and scheduling, patient assignments, rounds, investigation/resolution of patient care issues, coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers, and interdepartmental coordination.
- Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care consistent with the charge nurse/clinical registered nurse job description accountabilities.
- Maintain all clinical competencies outlined.
- Patient Experience
- Perform a variety of patient experience activities to ensure that patient experience expectations are met or exceeded.
- Role model, staff mentoring/coaching, patient rounds, service recovery, and problem resolution.
- Staff Development
- Assist with continuing staff development to include clinical problem solving and decision making skills.
- Collaborate with clinical nurse educators to support new staff orientation and training.
- Administrative and Quality Management
- Perform a variety of administrative and quality management activities to ensure that quality expectations and regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure unit compliance with departmental, Prisma Health, safety, regulatory, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Human Resources
- Perform a variety of human resources activities, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, staff rounding, and performance management of unit staff.
- May assist with Payroll processing.
- Financial Management
- Assist the Nurse Manager in maintaining unit budget by appropriate allocation and utilization of unit resources.
- Share accountability with Nurse Manager for unit/department/organizational goal achievement.
- Project Management
- Assist in planning, directing, and evaluating various short-term and long-term projects for the unit.
- Develop, submit, implement, and evaluate performance objectives for self and unit.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of RN experience in appropriate area of nursing
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Certified in nursing specialty
