Job Summary:
UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Operating Room Assistant II to join our team. As an Operating Room Assistant II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Transport blood products, specimens, and equipment as needed
- Maintain equipment and ensure environmental sanitation
- Restock supplies and clean soiled supplies
- Store and distribute anesthesia support materials
- Provide customer service and support to patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Contribute to departmental efficiencies and goal attainment
Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- BLS certification required
- Experience in a hospital operating room environment preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50lbs or more, constant (80-90% of the time)
- Dexterity to operate equipment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Awareness of potential exposure to injury or hazardous materials
- Knowledge of disinfectants, germicides, and sterilants
- Knowledge of infection control, AORN, and AAMI standards related to job functions
- Knowledge of government regulations, including JCAHO, OSHA, and Waste Management
