Job Title: Pipefitter III - Fabrication and Installation Specialist
">Job Overview:
">We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter III - Fabrication and Installation Specialist to join our team at Walashek Industrial & Marine Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work process instructions in order to measure, cut, thread and bend pipe (of multiple material types) to required shape using hand and power tools.Key Responsibilities:
">- Laying out and fabricating piping and installing it into established piping systems within technical guidelines;
- Reading and interpreting basic drawings, technical manuals and weld symbols;
- Passing weld test for weld procedures in the 6GR position;
- Passing TIG weld test procedure for aluminum pipe;
- Ability to work TIG Weld standards;
- Inspecting work, identifying potential problems, and initiating corrective actions;
- Increasing awareness of Quality procedures within department;
- Performing as a productive working team member that meets daily goals set by the supervisor;
- Maintaining experience in the trade and knowledge of ship terminology;
- Holding working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow directions;
- Using and reading a tape measure;
- Laying out material;
- Fitting-up material;
- Preparing for rigging of material;
- Conducting comprehensive Torch and Tac-Weld Work;
- Using a radius gage;
- Using hand power tools;
- Conducting Lock-Out/ Tag-Out;
- Having general knowledge of USN Standard Items;
- Possessing the ability to bend Pipe mandrel pipe bender;
- Proficiency in brazing;
- Understanding rolling off set;
Requirements:
">- A High School Diploma or GED Equivalency;
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and measure using the metric system;
- 2 years' experience as a Class "A" Pipe Welder in a Shipyard/and or industrial environment;
- Must be TWIX card and DBIDS credential eligible;
Working Conditions:
">- Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, as well as in an office controlled environment;
- May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs both on and offshore as well as confined spaces. Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE when required;
- Visits may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members;
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel;
- Perform prolonged standing;
- Ability to turn head from side to side and about the vertical axis;
- Lift/push/pull 50lbs on an occasional basis;
- Lift/push/pull up to 20lbs on a frequent basis;
- Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and ramps).
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
