Culinary Director

The Culinary Director will oversee the culinary operations, planning, and implementation of the food service department at The Mariner Marblehead. This role requires a high level of expertise and guidance to cultivate a dining experience that delights residents, reinforces nutritional values, and establishes a standard of culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Food Service Planning and Implementation: Plan, develop, organize, and implement the food service department, including hiring and training staff.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Meet regularly with the Executive Director and care staff to ensure compliance with residents' diet requirements and maintain high standards of quality.
- Staff Development and Training: Train staff and promote independent programs for staff training to ensure a well-equipped and knowledgeable team.
- Inventory Management and Procurement: Order and purchase food, supplies, and equipment as needed, and maintain an orderly inventory.
- Meal Delivery and Preparation: Ensure the delivery of meals to the dining room at appropriate times and assist in food preparation and cleaning duties.
- Special Events and Budgeting: Plan and assist with special events, including private dinners, and assist in the preparation of the annual Food Service budget.
- Education and Certifications: High school diploma or GED and successful completion of a reputable course in food service management preferred. College degree in culinary arts/management is very desirable. Certificate/License as required by federal/state/local law or associated agencies.
- Physical Abilities: Physically able to move at least 25 lbs. without assistance. May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc.
