Job Summary

The Army National Guard is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney-Advisor (General) to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior leaders and staff on a wide range of complex legal issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to senior leaders and staff on complex legal issues, including those related to sexual assault, sexual harassment, and domestic violence.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Represent the Army National Guard in legal matters, including litigation and administrative proceedings.
  • Provide acquisition and fiscal legal advice to the state's assigned United States Property & Fiscal Officer.
  • Act as the Adjutant General's representative in third-party proceedings under Federal labor-management and equal employment opportunity statutes and regulatory provisions.
  • Serve as the state's Ethics Adviser, providing counsel on complex ethics issues and policies.
Requirements
  • Must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or a Bachelors of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
  • Must have more than two years of professional legal experience that is equal to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly and effectively with senior leaders and staff.
