Overview:
Under the general oversight of the athletic director, the Head Coach is responsible for guiding students in the sport of lacrosse, fostering high skill levels, promoting discipline and sportsmanship, and enhancing self-esteem among participants.

Key Responsibilities: Promote and support the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of Lexington County School District One. Engage effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders through clear communication and collaboration. Create a safe, supportive, and productive environment for learning and participation. Demonstrate and explain the use of equipment and techniques relevant to lacrosse. Design and implement a structured practice schedule; monitor student performance to identify and correct errors. Communicate and enforce safety protocols and regulations. Ensure the safety of the facilities used for lacrosse activities. Organize and manage competitions and tournaments. Collaborate with the athletic director to schedule events and promote the sport effectively. Establish eligibility criteria for student participation in competitions. Maintain discipline and sportsmanship standards; address breaches of conduct appropriately. Advise on the procurement of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Oversee the maintenance of equipment and playing areas. Supervise students during school hours and on school grounds as assigned. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and training workshops. Engage with parents, administrators, and counselors regarding student performance and activities. Perform additional related duties as required. Qualifications: Prior experience as a participant or coach in lacrosse, or a combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills. Possession of a valid South Carolina driver's license. Skills and Knowledge:
Familiarity with the policies and procedures of the school district relevant to this role. Understanding of school operations and the ability to ensure safe and effective use of equipment and materials. Capacity to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with all stakeholders.

Work Environment:
Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions. The role requires constant attention while working with students and may involve occasional lifting of items weighing up to seventy-five pounds. Local and overnight travel may be necessary, and operation of athletic equipment is required.

Accountability:
Responsible for the management of athletic equipment and facilities, as well as supervising student participants.

Performance Evaluation:
The effectiveness of this position will be assessed by the athletic director and/or the principal.
