Job Description:

The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care.

You will perform daily biological and sterile supply testing, maintain logs for each, and function throughout the facility to organize and direct instrument needs to units. Additionally, you will assist clinical operations as needed with endoscopy procedures, stock and order supplies for units as directed, and be responsible for understanding and being fully involved in completion of competencies based on AVH policies, AORN, AAMI, HSPA, and CER standards that are used as guidelines for SPD practices.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician and be certified in CRCST and CER within 12 months of hire. You will work collaboratively with others within the department to ensure an efficient, professional, and respectful environment, and work with other departments to ensure patient safety and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician

Working Conditions:

The Sterile Processing Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a low oxygen environment (8,000' in elevation) and be willing to work occasional weekend call (every 4th or 5th weekend).
