Job Overview:
The Nurse Clinician IV is a proficient healthcare professional who demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the standards for competent nursing practice as outlined in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. This role involves a blend of independent and collaborative decision-making, focusing on a holistic approach to patient care. The clinician effectively collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, spearheading initiatives to resolve patient care challenges. As a clinical leader, this position directs others in addressing urgent or atypical situations and takes charge in developing, implementing, and assessing evidence-based practice standards within the specialty area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nursing Process:
Utilize specialized knowledge to assess patients and identify nursing diagnoses and care needs. Formulate and adjust individualized care plans as necessary. - Patient and Family Education:
Deliver comprehensive education to patients and families based on their unique learning needs, employing evidence-based resources and strategies to ensure understanding. - Care Coordination:
Independently plan and prioritize patient care activities, ensuring safety and continuity through effective communication and teamwork. - Professional Ethics and Advocacy:
Recognize and address ethical dilemmas, advocating for patient rights and culturally sensitive care. - Leadership and Collaboration:
Facilitate communication among team members and actively participate in unit governance and professional development initiatives. - Quality and Safety:
Engage in quality improvement activities, identifying safety concerns and implementing solutions to enhance patient care.
General Requirements:
- Complete required competency evaluations and maintain compliance with health screening and training.
- Demonstrate effective documentation practices and utilize electronic communication tools proficiently.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
8-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities.
