Advanced Composite Materials Analyst

Key Responsibilities
- Areas of Focus: Hypersonics, Tactical Missile Systems, Aviation Technologies
- Collaborate with colleagues, technical leaders, and subject matter experts to enhance analytical capabilities pertinent to the advancement of missile and aviation technologies.
- Perform thermo-structural analyses pertinent to the design of hypersonic and high-speed vehicles.
- Leverage experimental data along with modeling and simulation tools to forecast and evaluate high-temperature material stress and deformation.
- Implement structural engineering best practices across both existing applications and new initiatives, including test-driven development methodologies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and customer points of contact.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Strong passion for analytical work (approximately 80% of the role).
- Possession of an active Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- General experience in thermo-structural analysis ranging from 0 to 10 years (3+ years preferred).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Familiarity with solid and surface-based models of composites in Abaqus or Ansys.
- Experience in managing multiple meshes (CFD, thermal, structural) and transferring data between them is advantageous.
- Knowledge of FAA best practices for Fiber Composite Analysis and Design.
- Understanding of micromechanics and lamination theory is preferred.
This position offers a competitive salary along with comprehensive benefits. Travel expectations are approximately 10%.
