Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Claim Representative Intern for summer 2025. This internship requires the person to investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability, and pay or deny losses.

The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled and entering their junior or senior year in college with above-average communication skills (written and verbal), ability to resolve complex issues, organize and interpret data, handle multiple assignments, and be detail-oriented.

The position offers a competitive rate of pay at $17/hour. Returning interns may qualify for a higher rate of pay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and assemble facts related to insurance claims.
  • Determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss.
  • Analyze legal liability and make decisions on payment or denial of claims.
  • Become familiar with insurance policies, endorsements, and forms.
  • Work towards resolving claims and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of claims payments.
  • Service the needs of agents, policyholders, and others.
  • Handle investigations by phone, mail, and on-site investigations.
