Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Beauty Therapist - Patient Care Specialist to join our team at St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. As a Beauty Therapist, you will provide exceptional hair care services to patients in a healthcare setting, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

• Provide hair cutting, styling, and related services to patients in a healthcare setting beauty shop.
• Perform all work in accordance with state and federal guidelines and requirements.
• Shave, cut, and shape hair of patients using clippers, scissors, razors, and other hand or mechanical appliances.
• Style, set, comb out, and curl hair of patients using hand or mechanical appliances.
• Shampoo hair and scalp with water, liquid soap, or dry powder and rinse hair with water or prepared rinses.
• Permanently wave hair by applying lotions, waving solution, or other preparations, wind hair around rollers or pin curls, and finger wave hair by hand or mechanical appliances.
• Massage scalp and provide other hair and scalp conditioning treatments for hygienic or remedial purposes using hand or mechanical appliances.
• Provide wig care services for patients, including setting, styling, washing, and cleaning.
• Position patients for beauty treatments and wheel non-ambulatory patients in and out of the beauty shop.
• Contact floors to make appointments for patients and maintain records of treatments provided to patients.
• Clean chairs, combs, scissors, and cabinets, sterilize work-related tools and equipment, and maintain sanitary conditions of the beauty shop while adhering to Infection Prevention guidelines.
• Obtain, receive, and store records and safeguard equipment, materials, and supplies.

• Valid cosmetology license issued by the New York State Department of State (NYSDOS).
• Knowledge of methods used in maintaining proper grooming of hair, knowledge of sanitary requirements in the practice of hairdressing and cosmetology, knowledge of beauty culture equipment and supplies, and skill in applying beauty and cosmetology techniques.
