We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at the School of Dental Medicine. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the education of dental students and residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide thorough oral prophylaxes (cleanings) on scheduled patients, including proper use of ultrasonic cleaning devices, scaling instruments, polishing, and flossing.
- Chart existing restorations on new patients, as well as the existence of clinical, present disease.
- Explain treatment alternatives to patients and record specific treatment performed on patient charts.
- Aid in chairside assisting as necessary and handle sharpening, sterilizations, and maintenance of all instruments and equipment.
- Participate in the education of dental students and residents and escort patients to and from operatories.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
