Job Title: Nutrition Care Ambassador Bluebonnet

At Baton Rouge General, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nutrition Care Ambassador to join our team. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care and nutrition support.

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Care Ambassador is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and nutrition support to patients on our medical-surgical units. This includes assisting patients with menu selection, monitoring and delivering nourishments, setting up tray lines, and serving meal trays to patients. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with menu selection and provide nutrition education and support
  • Monitor and deliver nourishments to patients on our medical-surgical units
  • Set up tray lines and prepare patient trays according to established procedures
  • Serve meal trays to patients and record food intake
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, adhering to infection control and safety policies
Requirements:
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
