Position Overview
The Lead Educator at Young Hearts Preschool will report directly to the School Director.
This role encompasses the responsibility for the educational development, supervision, assessment, and communication with parents of all students assigned to the educator.
Additionally, the Lead Educator will focus on training and mentoring fellow educators within the Young Hearts framework.Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols to uphold the excellence of program offerings, operations, and state licensure.
- Strive to achieve and maintain NAEYC accreditation.
- Maintain consistent communication with the School Director, Assistant Director, and parents of enrolled students.
- Report incidents to the School Director as necessary.
- Collaborate to foster a safe learning environment.
- Comply with Great Hearts/Young Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Implement The Creative Curriculum and Gold Strategies for lesson execution and assessments.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences biannually.
- Build and sustain relationships with students, parents, and academy administration.
- Provide mentorship to assistant and lead teachers.
- Guide others in curriculum implementation and classroom management.
- Delegate responsibilities to other educators to facilitate their professional growth.
- Often supervise an additional teacher in training within the classroom.
- Communicate the progress of teacher training to the School Director.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education:
CDA, Associate's Degree or higher preferred
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in a licensed preschool setting.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must have a negative TB test.
- Must meet the qualifications of a Lead Teacher per Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
- CPR/First Aid certification is required upon hire.
Physical Functions:
The role requires standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May involve moving or positioning equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
Local travel may be necessary to various Great Hearts locations in Arizona.
