Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Spartanburg School District Seven. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological services to students, staff, and parents, and will play a key role in supporting the district's mission to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and Evaluate School Psychologists: Provide guidance and support to school psychologists in their work, and evaluate their performance to ensure that they are meeting the district's standards.
  2. Assessment and Intervention: Select and administer evaluation instruments to children referred for consideration for special education services or for re-evaluation, and provide follow-up support as needed.
  3. Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with school personnel, agency personnel, and parents on psychological matters involving students, and provide training and workshops to students, parents, and school personnel.
  4. Counseling and Support: Provide counseling services to students, and offer support and guidance to parents and school personnel as needed.
  5. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation, and prepare and disseminate written reports within required timelines.
  6. Professional Development: Identify, coordinate, and participate in professional growth activities for school psychologists, and serve as a learning consultant to school colleagues.
  7. Committee and Team Membership: Serve as a contributing member on school-based trans-disciplinary teams, and participate in special education eligibility committees as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in School Psychology: A Master's degree in School Psychology is required for this position.
  • South Carolina Teaching Certificate: A South Carolina teaching certificate with a school psychologist endorsement II or III is required.
  • Experience and Skills: The successful candidate will have experience in supervisory roles, and will possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to learn quickly and apply new technology.
