At Healthcare IS, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate Patients and Provide Care: Conduct thorough eye exams, diagnose eye conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatments to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Document Patient Interactions: Accurately document patient interactions and care in the optometry records, ensuring that the patient's record fully reflects the visit's details, diagnosis, and treatment provided.
- Collaborate with Optometry Director: Work closely with the Optometry Director to oversee the optometry practice and dispensary, contributing to quality control and supervision.
- Educate Patients: Educate patients on vision health and the importance of eye care in preventing disease.
- Assess Community Needs: Assess community optometry needs and assist in developing programs or identifying resources to address these needs as requested.
- Support Staff Education: Support the ongoing education, training, and orientation of optometry staff as needed.
- Participate in Planning: Participate in both short-term and long-term planning for the Optometry Department, including setting goals and objectives.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant federal, state, local, and organizational rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures related to the practice of optometry, clinical care, personnel matters, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
- Recruitment and Retention: Participate in the corporation's recruitment and retention efforts as necessary.
- Stay Current with Developments: Stay current with new techniques and developments in the field of optometry.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and order in all work areas and promptly report any issues or necessary repairs.
- Adhere to Patient Experience Standards: Adhere to and practice the organization's Patient Experience Service Standards, including CICARE principles during interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Comply with Regulations: Comply with regulations such as Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA.
- Protect the Practice: Protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Graduate of an Accredited Optometry School: Graduate of an accredited U.S. Optometry School.
- California State License: Possess a current California State license to practice Optometry.
- BLS Certification: Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- DEA Certificate: Have a valid DEA certificate.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism at all times, especially when interacting with patients.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and availability to work across all site locations.
- Personal Transportation: Must have personal transportation, a valid California Drivers License, and current automobile insurance.
- Deliver World-Class Patient Experience: Demonstrated ability to deliver a world-class patient experience using CICARE principles, showing initiative, and exceeding expectations in all patient encounters whether via email, phone, or in person.
