We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to supervise inmate work crew activities in the community and at the Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing inmate workers while in production in the assigned manufacturing center and coordinating communication between the designated Regional Operations Manager and the inmate workforce regarding shop production needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise inmate work crew activities at ACI work sites and supervise inmate workers while in production in the assigned manufacturing center.
- Coordinate communications between the designated Regional Operations Manager and the inmate workforce regarding shop production needs.
- Perform various types of searches and counts.
- Review work product.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment.
- Administer work evaluations and initiate and/or maintain required records, reports, and documentation.
- Exercise appropriate disciplinary measures as required.
- Maintain control of keys, tools, equipment, restricted products, and confidential information.
- Transport inmates to/from various work locations.
- Perform formal/informal inmate counts.
- Attend training sessions and meetings.
- Drive on State business.
- Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the assignment.
- Principles and practices of inmate management and supervision.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques.
- Inventory control.
- Search techniques.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 90 days in the event there is a rotation and/or operational need that requires transporting inmates.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Correctional Officer, or professional experience in correctional services or criminal justice field.
- Candidates that have been separated from State Service for more than two (2) years will require successful completion of a training curriculum upon their assignment to the position.
