About This Job

This role is based in the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, where we provide comprehensive care to patients with biopsychosocial problems resulting from acute or chronic illness, disability and/or trauma. As a Medical Social Worker, you will be responsible for assisting patients with emotional, social, environmental and financial needs, as well as their caregivers. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote family-centered care.

Job Summary

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient and caregiver needs, including emotional, social, environmental and financial needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to develop service plans that identify goals, priorities and strategies.
  • Monitor patient and caregiver receipt of services to ensure timely and appropriate services are being provided.
  • Document all interactions and interventions in the medical record.
  • Promote family-centered care through therapeutic relationships and support.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related licensed eligible field.
  • Approximately six to twelve months on-the-job experience preferred.
  • Increased Security Clearance Required: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off and professional development opportunities.
