Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team at Millstone Weber LLC in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Construction Laborer, you will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor in preparing surfaces for paving, including shoveling asphalt into construction areas and assisting in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
  • Excavate and fill trenches and ditches, and maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the site each day.
  • Handle and store materials, load and unload trucks, and haul/hoist materials as needed.
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and bring problems to the attention of the foreman, Safety Director, or HR Manager.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred, and the ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and the ability to safely and productively operate a man-lift and work at heights up to 80 feet.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and the employee will be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, and dust.
  • The employee will regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery, and may be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stair towers.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant physical effort is required, including standing for extended periods of time, and the ability to stoop, bend, and crouch as required.
  • Ability to maintain balance while working on water craft or other surfaces, and sufficient skill and visual acuity to provide direction and flagging for operators of cranes with rated capacities of up to 500 tons.
