Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Art Education Instructor to join our team at the Department of Art Education's Creative Arts Day Camp. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance to summer program participants, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the camp, and enforcing program policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and guidance to summer program participants
  • Teach sessions to provide students with experience in various media, including sculpture, digital media, printmaking, painting, drawing, bookmaking, fibers, and more
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the Creative Arts Day Camp
  • Enforce program policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director
Requirements
  • Recent graduate and/or undergraduate art education student
  • Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
