SECOND SHIFT POSITION AVAILABLE
The role involves preparing and applying spray paint or hand brushing on various materials, including metals, castings, components, finished assemblies, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive verbal instructions, route cards, and shop orders from the Foreman or Shipping Clerk.
- Interpret route cards to identify the required type and color of paint or protective coating.
- Set up equipment, including connecting air hoses, pressure gauges, and spray guns, and perform disassembly and assembly of coupling guards and screens as necessary.
- Utilize spray equipment, hand brushes, or rollers to apply the specified type, color, and number of coats of paint or protective coating, while applying oil or grease to machined surfaces not intended for painting.
- Employ floor-controlled electric cranes, hand hoists, or walking electric lift trucks to position materials for painting.
- Relocate and set up equipment in various locations within the facility, adjusting air pressure when spraying outside the designated painting booth.
- Maintain and clean spraying equipment, making minor repairs such as replacing parts and connecting air hoses.
- Prepare paint by adding thinners, hardeners, and catalysts as needed.
- Report any unusual conditions to the Foreman and Shipping Clerk.
- Ensure the immediate work area is kept clean and organized.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform semi-repetitive tasks, requiring judgment to achieve quality results.
- Experience using tradesman's tools to paint various products, including working from ladders or scaffolds.
- Capability to work collaboratively on production materials or finished products, coordinating with others to maintain production and shipment schedules.
- Exercise considerable care to prevent injury to others while operating cranes or working from scaffolds.
- Moderate mental and visual focus required when painting or operating lifting devices, necessitating frequent adjustments for proper operation.
- Moderate physical exertion, including climbing and working from ladders or scaffolds, and handling medium-weight materials.
- Exposure to fume conditions, requiring the use of protective equipment.
- Ability to handle flammable liquids and work at heights.
Working Hours:
2nd shift - 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
