Job Overview

We are seeking an IT Service Management Engineer to join our team at the NOAA Cyber Security Center contract. This position will be part of the Security Engineering and Operations (SE&O) team, responsible for infrastructure and security tools for the NOAA Cyber Security Center as well as supporting 5 Trusted Internet Connection Access Provider (TICAP) sites.


Responsibilities
  • Servicing Requests: Work independently to fulfill requests for approved services, including tracking of all request data, ensuring customer satisfaction, and tracking request status through closure.
  • Incident Response: Create incident tickets when reports of service outage or disruption are received, conduct triage, and where possible take action to restore service. Work with functional engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of all tickets.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Must have a Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Cybersecurity Knowledge: Possess a basic understanding of networking, virtualization, server, and desktop maintenance.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of understanding, documenting, and communicating the status of requests and incident response.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Experience supporting Red Hat Linux and Windows systems, including server operations and maintenance.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools such as Netbrain, Ansible, XSOAR, Fortimanager, Panorama.
