Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist

Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital.

Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing medication orders, directing pharmacy employees, and providing education to patients and healthcare professionals on appropriate medication usage. This is a PRN position, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Educate healthcare professionals and patients on safe and appropriate medication use, including drug interactions and side effects.
  • Perform professional and technical activities associated with medication distribution, inventory management, and patient records.
  • Supervise pharmacy interns and technicians, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Review and clarify medication orders, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
  • Identify and intervene in medication-related problems, ensuring resolution and patient safety.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment within the pharmacy, adhering to USP 797 standards.
  • Respond to Code Blue situations, providing assistance with medication selection and preparation.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in pharmacy required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • Current license in the state of Louisiana.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians and hospital personnel.
Work Environment

The Clinical Pharmacist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds, stand and/or walk for at least five hours per day, and possess excellent visual acuity and hand-eye coordination.
