As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with colleagues and clinical directors, and contributing to quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized history and physical examinations for diverse populations, taking into account social determinants of health.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient.
- Diagnose acute, episodic, and chronic diseases, and develop comprehensive plans of care that incorporate evidence-based practice guidelines and relevant regulations.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, and provide education for current health diagnoses and anticipatory guidance for health promotion and disease prevention.
- Monitor plans of care for cost-effectiveness and achievement of expected improvements, and seek feedback from patients, colleagues, and collaborating physicians to enhance quality outcomes.
- Document services in a timely manner to ensure accurate communication among the healthcare team.
- Support population and individual health through prevention, health promotion, and chronic disease management.
- Completion of a graduate-level nurse practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).
- Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of specialization by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).
Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory, and/or office environments. May be exposed to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals, and/or disoriented or combative patients.
