Job Summary:

Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Gas Technician to join our team at our landfill location. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our landfill gas systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill.
  • Work with our Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with landfill employees, consultants, and vendors.
  • Monitor gas wells and probes using a gas analyzer.
  • Perform maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including removal, inspections, and repairs.
  • Monitor liquid levels in gas wells.
  • Perform HDPE pipe fusion.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a gas technician.
  • Ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill safely.
  • Work outdoors for most of the day.
  • Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic.
  • Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day.
  • Provide on-call response to gas collection system.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools.
  • Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to collect data, interpret data, and draw valid conclusions.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Experience with leachate collection systems.
