Purpose & Scope:

The Physician is a key member of the healthcare team at VHC Health, providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients. The scope of practice for each Physician is defined through the health system's credentialing and privileging committee.

The Physician supports objectives, budget, and performance metrics at the individual level, ensuring high-quality clinical care to patients in a timely manner.

The Physician is responsible for implementing quality control standards, risk management, and compliance programs, ensuring a safe and effective work environment.

Education:
Doctorate from an Accredited Medical School is required.

Experience:
One year of Medical/Surgical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure:
Licensed to Practice Medicine by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.

Physical Requirements:
The Physician must possess physical capabilities to perform the job, including exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The Physician must also be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress associated with the position, operate office machines safely, and push patients on stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds from one area to another.

Working Conditions:
The Physician works in a well-lighted/ventilated office/clinical setting, subject to frequent interruptions, and may be required to work beyond normal working hours when requested to do so.

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is needed for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes, and are supplied by the hospital.
