Job Summary

We are seeking highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to join our team in the Design Physics Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and engineers, and develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in the field of design physics, with a focus on developing new tools, algorithms, and experiments to advance our scientific understanding.
  • Collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers to design and conduct experiments, and to analyze and interpret data.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the underlying physics and mathematics of our research projects.
  • Communicate research results through publications, presentations, and reports.
  • Participate in the development of new research proposals and projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant physical science, engineering, or applied mathematics discipline.
  • Experience in high-quality research in a relevant field, demonstrating both detailed understanding and a broad perspective.
  • Demonstrated significant accomplishments in experimental science, numerical simulations and modeling, and/or the application of theoretical techniques.
  • Experience developing innovative solutions to scientific and technical problems.
  • Demonstrated proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and present and explain technical information.
