PRIMARY ROLE

Under the guidance of the Director of School Services, the Site Coordinator is tasked with the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of high-quality educational, enrichment, and recreational initiatives, alongside the oversight of program staff. Administrative responsibilities and adherence to program standards are also key components of this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Empowering Youth for Success

  • Encourage and enhance participation in programs.
  • Facilitate the registration of new members and guide them through the orientation process.
  • Provide mentorship and positive role modeling for members.

Program Development and Execution

  • Supervise, train, and assess all site personnel to ensure effective performance.
  • Plan, organize, and guarantee the delivery of quality programs that align with established guidelines.
  • Oversee and provide guidance in all relevant program areas.
  • Ensure the implementation of engaging educational, arts & crafts, athletic, and recreational activities for youth in grades K-5.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and upkeep of all program materials.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all program spaces.
  • Foster a positive environment conducive to learning and interaction.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors, school staff, parents, and community partners to address concerns and strengthen collaborations.
  • Establish and uphold safety protocols to protect the well-being of all members.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and oversight of staff and volunteers.
  • Take on the responsibilities of Youth Development Professionals when necessary.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of program schedules, attendance, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with attendance procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervision

  • Manage member behavior to maintain order and discipline, reinforcing club rules and standards.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies, prioritizing member safety.
  • Contribute to a productive work atmosphere by participating in regular staff meetings.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Participate in special events and programs as needed.
  • Assist in other program areas as required.
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Engage in daily communication with Club staff, members, and supervisors to share information, address issues, and provide guidance.

External: Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and parents to resolve concerns and enhance program effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • A four-year degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units.
  • Strong organizational and management skills preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in youth development within educational or after-school settings.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising programs for groups of 20+ youth across various activities.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications and TB test clearance required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role involves physical activities such as standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Tasks are performed with moderate exposure to various environmental conditions, including dust, humidity, and temperature fluctuations.
