About the RoleThis position involves working as a Nursing Assistant within our care management team under the supervision of a registered nurse. The successful candidate will perform delegated nursing tasks as outlined in the skill competency checklist.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations at a high school level or equivalent.
- Registration with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants (CNA) to work in basic provider settings.
- Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
- Possesses core Nursing Assistant skills as outlined in the skill competency checklist and understands delegated task performance.
- Possesses a willingness to complete educational requirements while developing new skills as required by the unit.
- Possesses effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously with patients, parents/families, and healthcare team members.
- Rudimentary assessment and analytical skills to perform basic patient observations.
The East 5 unit is a 24-bed ward where nurses care for children with cancer or blood disorders and those undergoing bone marrow transplantation. Patients typically stay for 3-45 days.
ScheduleThis role involves working one 8-hour shift per week from 3:00-11:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.
