Overview

Seasonal District Operations Support
  • Work schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging in tasks related to the upkeep and management of recreational facilities, including boat launches and dams;
  • Performing lawn care activities such as mowing and trimming;
  • Conducting cleaning and janitorial duties;

  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions;
  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required;

  • Driving medium-duty vehicles with trailers;

Job Purpose:
In the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as a temporary employee, you will undertake various seasonal tasks and responsibilities.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Special Requirements:
  1. Supervisors of small recreational units may need to perform emergency first aid and obtain a Basic First Aid Certificate.
  2. For certain positions, candidates may need to provide:
    1. Proof of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license.
    2. A valid pesticide application license.
    3. Relevant college training.
    4. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification may be necessary for specific roles.
  3. Individuals performing lifeguard duties must maintain an American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguarding Certification, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid. EMT or MRT certification may substitute for CPR and First Aid requirements.
Physical Requirements:

1. Candidates must possess adequate physical strength and stamina to fulfill the duties of the position.

2. Lifeguards must demonstrate swimming skills as per American Red Cross (ARC) waterfront lifeguarding standards.
