Job Summary:
The Lead Porter is a key member of our dealership team, responsible for ensuring the efficient movement and presentation of vehicles on our lot. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized lot, assisting customers, and supporting dealership operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Movement: Manage the movement and positioning of vehicles on the dealership lot, including parking, relocating, and preparing vehicles for display or customer delivery.
- Lot Maintenance: Ensure the lot and service areas are clean and organized, including regular washing, vacuuming, and arranging of vehicles. Keep the lot free of hazards and debris.
- Make-Ready Coordination: Collaborate with the make-ready team to ensure vehicles are cleaned, detailed, and fully prepared for display. Verify that vehicles meet the dealership's quality standards before they are showcased on the lot.
- Customer Assistance: Greet and assist customers arriving at the dealership, helping with vehicle check-ins, answering questions, and providing directions as needed.
- Inventory Management: Monitor the status of vehicles, note any damages or discrepancies, and report these issues to the appropriate department.
- Operational Support: Assist with dealership operations by performing tasks such as fueling vehicles, moving cars to and from service bays, and preparing vehicles for delivery.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and dealership policies, including proper use of equipment and compliance with traffic laws while moving vehicles.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members and departments, demonstrating a positive attitude and contributing to a supportive team environment. Assist colleagues as needed and foster a cooperative work atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or within the automotive industry is beneficial but not required.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of vehicle operations, with the ability to handle minor tasks such as fueling and cleaning vehicles.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, and moving vehicles. Must be able to lift up to [specific weight] pounds.
