Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Event Technician to join our team at Waukesha County Technical College. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for live events, operating and maintaining AV systems, and coordinating event production with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and tear down AV equipment for live events
  • Support event organizers and internal team members to ensure successful operation of AV equipment
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, inspect, maintain, and repair AV equipment
  • Coordinate week-of-event logistics and scheduling with event managers and organizers
  • Use ticketing system to document and respond to equipment issues
  • Communicate and operate cohesively with IT/events teams to deliver professional customer service
  • Provide back-up support for Information Technology Services operations and train/mentor team on operation of AV equipment
Requirements
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and networking systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and resolve AV equipment issues
  • Ability to perform basic technical maintenance and learn new operations
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively independently and in a team environment
Education and Experience
  • Accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trade with 4-6 years of technical training related experience to audio-visual production OR 8+ years of technical training related experience to audio-visual production
