At UMass Memorial Health, we are seeking a skilled Office Nurse to join our Medical Group team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as a role model for all clinical staff, training and providing direction/oversight as needed.
- Triage phone calls and execute appropriate follow-through.
- Perform vital signs and visual acuity on designated patients, documenting results accurately.
- Assist physicians with technical procedures, such as outpatient surgical procedures, pap smears, and sigmoidoscopies.
- Perform venipuncture using aseptic technique, administer immunizations and medications, and provide quality control testing in compliance with CLIA regulations.
- Recognize changes in patient physical and mental condition, taking appropriate actions and responding to emergency situations.
- Provide nursing interventions tailored to patient physical condition and emotional status.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current licensure in the State of Massachusetts as an LPN or RN.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an LPN or RN.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead/train a group of employees.
- Knowledge of nursing procedures and practices, office and laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to build relationships and provide exceptional patient service.
