Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic Transplant ICU team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.
About the Role:
This is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. You will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge base and work with a team that fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to post-operative cardiovascular patients, post-operative thoracic patients, heart and lung transplant patients, advanced heart failure patients, and patients with supportive devices.
- Work in a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in a 34-bed unit with high acuity patients.
- Participate in a shared governance model featuring unit-based councils that empower nurses and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and excellence by identifying and reporting safety concerns and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- License/Certification: RN - Registered Nurse, min 1 year ICU experience, BLS - Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire).
