Job Title: AOV Tester
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled AOV Tester to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for functional and post-maintenance diagnostic testing, corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air-operated valves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform functional and post-maintenance diagnostic testing to ensure air-operated valves meet prescribed design and vendor specifications.
- Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air-operated valves.
- Review work orders for technical correctness and address any discrepancies.
- Identify clearance requirements and implement the clearance process per procedure.
- Perform work tasks as required by work orders and document the steps performed.
- Review documentation to ensure work order entries are correct and complete.
- Perform diagnostic testing as dictated by customer requirements.
- Ensure employees and coworkers' personal safety and prevent damage to plant equipment.
- Develop and implement build repair plans based on troubleshooting results.
- Implement First Time Quality and conduct functions within procedural parameters set forth by the customer/contractor.
- Complete site/contractor general training requirements and document daily field work activity in the work order/log.
- Adhere to work hour requirements and perform work in accordance with Quality, Radiological, Human Performance, and other programmatic norms for nuclear workers.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- 5 years' experience in diagnostic testing and air-operated valve maintenance.
- Completion of at least two outages as a diagnostic tester.
- Navy Nuclear background with maintenance or equivalent experience and training in Reactor Operations or Maintenance a plus.
- Pass and maintain Fitness for Duty requirements.
- Satisfactory performance rating for previous work (based on client and contractor feedback).
- Ability to pass a practical and written examination as determined by contractor or client.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, electrical instruments, diagnostic tools, and conduct maintenance in accordance with OSHA or client requirements for electrical and mechanical safety.
- Individual demonstrating proficiency in the operation and use of current industry-standard diagnostic equipment.
