We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team at the Town of Elon NC. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and operating firefighting equipment.

• Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance as needed
• Operate firefighting equipment, including fire trucks and hoses
• Participate in hazardous material response and prevention programs
• Conduct pre-incident planning and inspections of area businesses and buildings
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Participate in training and drills to maintain proficiency in firefighting techniques

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• NC Hazardous Material Operations Certification required
• NC Firefighter Certification required
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic certification required
• Emergency Vehicle Driver Certification preferred
• North Carolina Class B Driver's License preferred

The Firefighter/EMT will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency situations and working in a variety of weather conditions. The employee must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in close quarters. The employee may be exposed to blood or blood-borne pathogens when providing emergency medical services.
