Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist Intern to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a Radiology Technologist Intern, you will assist in performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, adhering to the principle of radiation protection under the supervision of a registered technologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Properly identify and perform diagnostic radiographic services on patients with the maximum amount of care, while evaluating the technical quality.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned area, making sure all equipment and supplies necessary for that area are readily available for use.
  • Demonstrate competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilities.
  • Accurately adhere to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.
  • Maintain responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
  • Provide educational information to the patient regarding their examination.
  • Knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history and appropriate background and information pertinent to proposed examination.
  • Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS. Verify correct patient is selected from worklist, ensures accuracy of Medical Record information prior to being sent to PACS.
  • Responsible for the success of the department to achieve Press Ganey goal. Every patient should receive patient education and your personalized business card. Apology cards should be sent or given to all patients when we do not meet their expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrate Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
Requirements
  • First- or Second-year student of an ARRT recognized radiography program.
  • Current CPR certification required. History of computer usage experience required.
