Position Overview:
As a Construction Project Leader, you will engage in a dynamic work environment where each day presents new challenges and opportunities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance and training to volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and partner families on construction techniques and daily activities.
- Ensuring site safety by implementing safe practices and maintaining documentation, while making certain that all participants adhere to safety protocols.
- Conducting Final Walkthroughs with homeowners and addressing any outstanding issues within two weeks of the walkthrough.
- Participating in hands-on learning experiences in Residential Construction.
- Enjoying predictable work hours.
Essential Qualifications:
- A valid Texas Driver's License and current automotive liability insurance.
- Preferred: At least 2 years of relevant construction experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and skilled/non-skilled workers, demonstrating a positive and compassionate demeanor.
- General knowledge of building trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC, and understanding their interconnections.
- Comfortable speaking publicly to groups of approximately 30 individuals.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Team-oriented and mission-driven.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $46,500, commensurate with education and experience.
Work Environment:
The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
