Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Unit Director in completing and delivering employee evaluations.
  • Assist the Unit Director in selection and hiring of new staff members.
  • Manage daily performance for a group of direct reports.
  • Provide service-based clinical expertise for staff.
  • Assist the Unit Director and educators in overseeing orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Be available to consult on practice issues.
  • Coordinate clinical activities.
  • Deliver bedside nursing care as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • BS/BSN required. If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.
  • Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
  • Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
  • Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
Certifications and Clearances
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
  • National Certification preferred.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
  • Act 33 with renewal.
  • Act 34 with renewal.
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
